We had a small get-together of NAAAD Alums in the Valley of the Sun. There were four of us – Jonodev Chaudhuri, ’93, Danielle Doctor, ’98, Melissa Thompson, ’09, and Shawn Attakai, ’95. It was wonderful. We reminisced about our times at Dartmouth. We talked about the old and new NAD House, some friends that we lost – Murray Youngbear, ’95, Nicole Redhorse, ’95, and Phillip Deloria, ’96. We talked about how some of us were crazy for spending Chem lab on Friday evenings when everybody elses’ weekend had began. We could not remember the name of the science building with the pendulum. Yes, we recognize forgetfulness as an age factor. Talking of age, I realized how many of us older NADs are disconnected from the younger NADs. We don’t know each other that well. It was a pleasure meeting Ms. Melissa Thompson. She got an earful of the older times. She also informed us about the NADs from the 2000’s and 2010’s. My have we changed. I talked a little about the success of the Dartmouth’s Native American Program how we owe thanks and recognition to some of the people who helped us make it. Colleen Larimore, ’85, John Sirios, ’91. Julie Ratio. Michael Hanitchak, ’73. Thanks y’all. I really enjoyed our mini-reunion and would encourage everybody, young and old, tall and short, to join us at our next reunion. We will be likely meeting again at the Federal Bar Conference in April 2018.
